Busy, but bored…
I’m a bit bored today.
I don’t have anything that I have to do until lunchtime. There are plenty of things that I could, or should do, but nothing that’s actually scheduled for right now.
So instead of being productive or organised, I’m sitting around playing with the interweb. I think even sleeping would be more useful than looking at Facebook or reading the news again.
Blogging a fairly ‘nothing’ blog is the closest I’ve come to contributing to society today.
On placement news:
Someone offered to swap me for Mount Druitt this morning. I laughed, then realised they were serious. No. No thank you.
4 weeks of classes left, 6 weeks until I start work (hopefully).

join FarmVille that will fill in a few hours/days/weeks for you.
What’s wrong with Mt Druitt (I’m expecting you to cross the second line in your response)

Howie,
I don’t have the guts to go the extra mile, and cross that second line that you’re so fond of violating.
Mt Druitt is not an area that I’m familiar with, but it’s a long way from where I live, and I’m told it’s unpleasant to work there in the ‘industry’ that I’m about to be a part of…
That’s my sanitised, interweb, people I don’t know can read this, answer. If we were chatting in a pub, I might have a slightly different response.
I have also been offered Marrickville, which incorporates Petersham etc. I’m not sure about that – I’m tempted, but at the same time I’m more likely to be there when I’m not working, which makes it less appealing.

very very restrained.
it’s the ‘industry’ it’s making you soft.

So I swapped for Marrickville. I’m getting quite excited about it, which I really wasn’t about Maroubra.
Roughly similar travel times, but quite a different area in terms of demographics.
Final exams have started, which is causing us all a bit of stress. There are assessments coming from every direction, but I’m managing things fairly well. The first written exam of this last set is tomorrow night. Tomorrow morning I have a practical assessment. PT testing finishes up on Friday afternoon… so close, but it still seems so far…
