Caned…
So I’ve been doing this bike ride thing to Cronulla and back every Tuesday morning for the last 4 weeks (as in push bike not the motor variety…).
It’s a good ride. About 60kms round trip from Dulwich Hill. And it’s more or less bike track the whole way once you get down to the cooks river, nice and safe… except this morning I grazed a fence with my handle bars while flying around a sharp corner and a came a cropper… I busted myself… caned hard… hugged concrete.
The front wheel was a right off (see picture), my skin held up alright (just a few minor grazes and some bruising), but I think my pride is injured the most… I think I was a young 21 year old the last time I stacked it that bad… And the worst part was walking the bike home on it’s real wheel with the front wheel up in the air for all to see… (I eventually found a taxi to throw the bike into and save some humiliation) and I had to recount the story to passers-by over and over again as everyone asked what I did, if I was alright etc etc… I mean, I’m thankful that people are so caring, but I just wanted to bury my head…

iTunes Help…
I have about $35 worth of iTunes credit to spend, I need some new beats… what should I buy?
I have a terrible memory for songs, unless I hear them and write their names down I can never remember them later, so rather than spend time thinking and stuff I thought I’d just ask you.
What’s your list of top 5 or 10 must have songs? Of all time…
My mum…
My mum went to Florida, USA for a conference.
My mum went to Medieval Times!
My mum is awesome!
Meeeeed-hiiiiiii-eeeeeeeval Tiiiiiiiiii-eeeeeeemmmmmmes!
Ebay…
So I currently have another auction running on ebay, this time it’s the Ford, time for it to go… and at a bargain price…
This is only like the 2nd item I’ve sold on ebay, if I could be stuffed I would try to sell a lot more. But working out what to list of the stuff we want to get rid of, getting around to doing it and dealing with postage and that are holding me back a little… maybe that can be summed up in laziness… anyway…
Here’s a link, it’s item number 220387136519
A little bit personal perhaps…
I love history and I love the church… which is why I think I love church history. I’m currently doing a semester of reformation church history at youthworks and we just had a lecture on Luther today.
He’s an amazing individual with some bipolar tendencies who loves overstating and swearing to make a point (yes he swore quite often) and is truly a very gritty and earthy man…
I’m not sure if Luther wanted this personal letter to be translated and read by people in colleges (or anywhere even) 500 years after he wrote it, but here is an extract from a letter he wrote to a friend who was getting married (bear in mind he and his mate were both monks who were previous celibate prior to discovering the Bible actually never forbade the marriage of clergy…)
“When you sleep with your Catherine and embrace her, you should think ‘This child of man, this wonderful creature of God has been given to me by my Christ. May he be praised and glorified.’ On the evening of the day on which, according to my calculations, you will receive this, I shall make love to my Catherine while you make love to yours, and thus we will be united in love” (cited in Obermann Reformation p. 71)
A little bit personal perhaps… not sure he wanted this letter to be published…
Jury Duty
As I tweeted, I’m very dissaponted in the Australian judicial system.
Today I was meant to have jury duty, I rang yesterday after 5.00pm as instructed and got the message for Monday’s jury people. I rang after 6.00 and got a message saying that B panel were no longer needed… I was on C panel.
So I was holding out hope that I would have to attend, as my boss wanted me to let him know what I was doing I had to ring again to see if they updated the message. So I rang after 7.00 and unfortunately were told C Panel were not needed.
I know a lot of people hate jury duty, and I realise I could be put on a case that was really not what I want to see or hear, and I realise that you play a part in saying if someone is guilty of a crime or not, but I still wanted to give it a shot.
