I wish I had a camera…
Sitting at work now, so gotta be quick…
I just saw the most amazing thing in the world!!
2 cop cars and a pilot vehicle passed our work, so we were keen to see what was following to have an escort like that.
Then it appeared, I saw the truck front first, followed by another truck front, and another, all towing one another. They were then towing a MASSIVE trailer that had a huge transformer or something on it, the trailer had a guy sitting in a cab at the back as it had rear steering.
Then, there’s more, another truck was attached to the back pushing it, and another attached to that pushing as well!!
The whole lot had hydraulic lines running between the trucks to sync all the engines and that, each truck had it’s own driver, but I gather the front guy was the one controlling the whole show…
My goodness, it was tops!!
And another couple of pilots cars and another cop car was following that…

We have a lot of wide loads come through Narrabri, but never seen something that big.
Aren’t you just glad that you are not sitting behind it on the highway waiting for an opportunity to get past.

I have one of those mobile phone cameras that is useless for taking pictures outside, and terrible at taking them indoors, so I’m not quite sure where it is designed to take photo’s…
That’s a good point Richard, I wouldn’t imagine there’d be too many opportunities to pass it!!
I’m hoping the local paper will have been on the ball and taken a photo, I hear it had a bit of trouble getting around 2 of the roundabouts in town so it would have spent a bit of time passing through…

If it is in the paper and you can scan it would love to see the photo

Richard, and everyone else, due to the power of google I have found some photo’s.
It seems a guy named Joe was on the ball and took photo’s which you can see at:

Hi all,
I luckily had my mobile phone camera with me and, although some are not clear, these photos say a thousand words!
A few words on the companies doing the haul:
Bradshaw Ultra Heavy Haulage, of Melbourne, Victoria, supplied two trucks and the trailer modules for the haul – a Mack Titan and a Kenworth C501 “Brute” and a pair of French Nicolas flat trailer modules.
Rex J. Andrews, of Penrith, NSW, supplied the other three trucks – a Volvo FH16 520, a Kenworth K104 and a Freightliner Argosy with a Detorit Diesel Series 60 550 -and the two beams to support the load.
At photos 6 and 7, the load had crossed to the incorrect side of the road to get through the final roundabout – which is also the busiest in Dubbo – she got hung up on the right hand side! The driver in the cab on the rearmost trailer module adjusted the height of the load then it got hung up on the left. It took the 5 drivers and the trailer jockey about an hour to get through that roundabout and 15 more minutes to get the load moving after some final adjustments and after one of the trucks blew a turbocharger – it was one of the front trucks which belonged to Rex Andrews!
Thanks for looking,
Joe
