iPhone
I really want to get an iPhone.
Here’s my justification(s):
* My phone contract ran out last June, and I can get an iPhone if I sign up to a new contract for pretty much what I’m paying monthly at the moment (give or take $5).
* My iPod’s battery life is deteriorating at a rapid rate (I get about 45 minutes out of it lately), so an iPhone would replace two appliances with one – that’s environmental also, right?
* I really, really want one.
However, I can also see the advantage in not being under a contract, especially as I’m still studying for the next few months.
Also, I heard a rumour that a new iPhone was due to be released in July this year – can any Apple types confirm/deny this?

I say get one…
Although my mum would say, actually justify it a little like you have, maybe throw in a little bit about calendar type thing, email and other features and my mum would say get one too.
But someone else’s mum might say wait the few months while you study, put up with what you have, then buy the iPhone when you’re working full time and by then you will also hopefully know if that rumour is true or not.

What would your mum say Pete?

She’d probably say “what’s an iPhone?” or “I phoned someone once, and they said…”

This mum would say…will you spend too much money with an iPhone??

From what I can work out, the costs would be about the same as I’m spending now.
I’ve just had a chat to someone who just got one, and he’s very much in favour of it… not that I can really use that as an argument.

If you get one, can I play tenpin bowling on it? There is health and entertainment benefits in getting an iphone too eh… and the beer drinking game… gosh!
If it is a similar price to your phone currently, then perhaps I will even support Mike in his hopes for an iphone one of these days…

You’re very welcome to play around with the iPhone, if I take the plunge. I’m not sure about all these ‘games’…what will the young people think???
Go on, support your husband in his quest to be ‘hip’ and ‘groovy’ with a flash new gadget.

if only iPhones could clean the house…I’d support Chris if he ever wanted to get one if it did!

I went through the same dilema but in the end got an ipod touch, it has all the function of an iphone except no calls or sms. But it still has all my calenders, fun games and plenty of tunes. And no contract. Connects to wifi. It’s changed my life.

Except I love the iDea of combining two iTems iNto one, and that’s a completely separate purchase, iNstead of paying (close enough to) my normal monthly bill to get the iPhone.

Life really is better with an iPhone.
I want to call people all the time. I keep hoping that someone will text/email me so that I can play with it.
