Facebook

Chris

Facebook says my account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance…

I tend to be a bit skeptical of this, I think it really has something to do with the governments of the world, they’re blocking my access for some reason.

Supersonic Hearing

Chris

Caleb is a freak. Well maybe other kids do this, but how am I to know, I don’t hang out with too many other 2 year olds at breakfast time.

So this morning I was in the kitchen about to get some breakfast and he was out of sight in the lounge room.

I went to open a new yogurt tub and as I peeled that thick alfoil type lid off it I heard him yell “yogurt, yogurt” and he came running into the kitchen and headed straight for the bowl cupboard so he could have some…

I was impressed, he not only heard it but knew that the sound was ripping the lid of a yogurt container.

From now on I plan to sit down with him each morning and listen to the radio when they have that secret sound competition on and win big off him!!

Weekend

Chris

Had a great weekend guys…

Thinking I should move back there just so we can hang out more!

For everyone else this is basically how my weekend went:

Friday night we hit the road at about 9:30, actually more like 10:00 I think, as Clare is a leader at our church’s youth group and was my lift to Sydney.

So we drove to Glenbrook to stay the night with her brother and his family who just moved down there to study at the Presbyterian College in Sydney somewhere.

Then after about 3.5 hours sleep we headed to Leichardt to check out a car Clare was interested in. She then dropped me at Punchbowl just in time to jump in the car and visit Megan, Martin and little Amina in Connells Point.

Then it was back to Punchbowl for the afternoon, we had a little Thai for lunch cause Dubbo Thai isn’t quite up to scratch and is about 1.5 times the price of Sydney Thai.

I napped it up in the afternoon.

Headed to the Newington for Pete’s birthday, great place to eat, the off to see Dicker’s new pad, then off to eat Pastisie’s (maybe that’s what they’re called) at a cafe in Newtown.

Sunday morning I jumped in the car with Nat and the boys and headed back to Glenbrook to see the aforementioned people. Then made the trip home, got home just in time for church, had dinner with friends after church, then went to help a friend set up their internet connection and home by 10:30.

Then slept worst than I had hoped.

Out of the Office

Chris

I’ve got to go prepare the banking and then take it down the street, and do a couple of other things while down there. I shouldn’t be any more than an hour.

So if you’re looking for me that’s where I’ll be.

Holiday Story

Chris

Up in Forster there’s this dolphin watching boat called the Amaroo, for years Nat has wanted to go on it but we’ve never done it due to it being a little pricey.

But this year we decided to go for it.

Cruising up the lake and out towards the heads was a lovely trip, a little windy the further we went, but really nice. Except at one stage Caleb tried to climb the side railing on the top deck and slip, he didn’t fall off the boat but I played a more active role in making sure he didn’t from then on.

That was until I started to feel a little queezy once we were in open waters. Then feeling only got worse, until I had to use the little spew bag the lady had given. From then on Nat looked after the kids while I tried to fill the bag I’d be given.

I wanted it to be over, but it was a 2 hour cruise!

I saw no dolphins, Nat and Caleb didn’t really see much either as she started to feel a little queezy too and had to sit down.

Good times.

Abbey Road

Chris

I don’t think I realised just how annoying a famous tourist spot like this one could be to locals just trying to get on with their day.

Growth Group

Chris

Tonight we had growth group on and did a great study on Prayer.

But every week before we start we have a get-to-know-you question, we do this basically all year even after we all know each other.

We have this book called “Have you ever…” which has 450 questions that belong with have you ever… and one person will pick a number between 1 and 450 and we’ll run with that question, although it is a book aimed at teens so sometimes we have to pick another number as the question is a little, well to youthy kinda.

So tonight Mel picked number 12, after picking number327 which was “Have you ever had a really awesome experience followed by a reallyawful experience?” and was not really to any ones liking.

So number 12 was “Have you ever stolen something?”

At first I struggled, and then it all came flooding back, I had stolen a few things in the past… it’s weird how it took a while but once you remember one thing others come flooding back.

What’s yours??

Night Shift:

Peter

…can be quite boring when you’re stuck indoors and not really able to do anything to contribute.
