fuggeddabowdit…

Peter

Although it doesn’t happen very often, I like to rejoice when my life parallels that of The Sopranos, so I was very pleased when I realised this morning that I now have a friend called Artie who owns an Italian (pizza) restaurant.

Please note that I am not suggesting that our Artie is anything like Artie Bucco. I just liked the symmetry.

Our rabbit

Dicker

Our rabbit chewed through our computer keyboard cable this morning. i’ve had the keyboard since I bought the PC, but it’s OK… I replaced the keyboard with a new one I bought from reverse garbage for $2.00!

What a bargain. I love that place.

I went…

Dicker

I went to Artie’s new pizza shop at 33 Maloney St, Roseberry (Eastern suburbs of Sydney for the geographically challenged). Pizzeria is called “2 Fat Olives”. Pizza is great, good price, staff is friendly but that’s mostly because I’m friends with the staff – but I’m sure others will find the same experience. Order 02 9667 4992.

I went to a funeral in Wellington (NSW central west for the geographically challenged) on Thursday for Fi’s uncle Len, her father’s step dad. It was a small funeral (8 people and a celebrant). He was a lonely man. We drove to Wello on Wednesday night, stayed with Fi’s mum, visited the Wagons, dinner with the brother-in-law, lunch and coffee with the father-in-law, and then home today at about 8:00pm. The week’s been a bit of a write-off in terms of work, but it was good to be out there visiting and being with the in-laws.

I went to Maccas… because we were travelling and maccas is travelling food.

Turducken

Chris

Word on the street is that there might be a Turducken dinner party this weekend.

The hosts mum was on the hunt for the duck, whilst the host himself was trying to source a Turkey, apparently not the easiest bird to get a hold of in Dubbo. But it turns out that the season is almost perfect and the Dubbo Turkey population will be on the increase as a little something called Christmas gets closer. ALLLL-RIGHT!

Will keep you posted…

Twelve

Chris

So I’m loving the random setting on my iPod (oh, did I mention my impulse buy following YY Weekend?!) I heard a song from the Twelve Compilation, and Nat asked something like what is this garbage…

But it felt good, it may not have been the best song on the album, or even one I like heaps, but the reminiscing was gold…

I look forward to what will be dished up in the future!!

Public Transport

Dicker

I caught the train from Lewisham to the city this morning in peak hour – 8:00am…

I don’t think I’ve really done that before… ever. When I caught the train for wark as a tradesman, it was always at 6:00am, which is hardly peak hour.

I’m not sure if it was a good experience or not… on the upside, it was air conditioned, and it was good to see so many people using public transport. But on the downside, we were crammed in like sardines… I’m not sure if the experience has me feeling more violated from the invasion of personal space, or left me with greater sense of community and public bonding… Either way, I don’t think I’ll be longing for the experience again anytime soon, if ever.

What happens on ‘YY Weekend’, stays on ‘YY Weekend’…

Peter

…mainly because although I took the camera, there wasn’t much to photograph. The weather was a bit wet for most of the weekend, so a lot of our time was spent indoors in the loungeroom (or at McDonald’s).

Much FIFA was played, much iPod listened to, and much (?) card games were played. We ate, drank, and relaxed, and as usual, I’ve come home from a holiday needing to sleep in and spend some time relaxing afterwards (I’m such a wuss).

The house was fantastic (although a bit leaky in such a heavy downpour), and we were very fortunate to have access to it. We sampled the Big Macs of various suburbs across the Central Coast, and managed to look / sound / feel like idiots in various other social settings.

Thanks especially to the corner shop lady who charged us about $8 for a loaf of bread and 2 litres of milk.

Chris – can we start a digital countdown to next year’s event now?
