Went down to Officeworks today for a look. My boss is paying to hook up broadband here, were using a spare modem we had lying around so went we to price a wireless router.
Anyway, I thought that we could walk away without making a purchase, but alas that was not to happen.
Good news though, walked away with a 1GB Mini SD card to use in my phone. Thought you might like to know that they have Lexar ones on special at the moment for the bargain price of $8.76. How cool is that?? You could buy the parts to make your own for that much.
But wait there’s more!
It came with a converter for use in full size SD devices! It’s like a normal SD card thing that you slip the smaller one into. So we can not only whack it into the card reader on the laptop, but also use it in our digital camera. Awesome!
Accidently clicked a google ad on the side of our page (thus adding more money to our YY fund) and it sent me to Life Art coffins.
There’s a funky idea. Not that many people would get to appreciate your art for long, but nevertheless, you gotta take a canvas wherever you can get one. I could get some stenciling work happening. It’d be a good practice canvas then off to the crematorium.
A note to friends and family: Please feel free to decorate my box, you know, like a plaster cast for a broken arm. I’m all for it. (don’t bother with the life art people, it’s cheaper to DIY.) PLease, no wanky pictures of dolphins…
So does anyone know anything about A-League soccer, I joined one of those fantasy team competitions and don’t know anything. I was asked so I said yes.
I don’t know any of the players, well I recognised about two or three names out of all the players so they got a spot in ‘Pilliga Pigeons’ team.
The rest were chosen by a very complex system, I went to the A-League page on the Fox Sports website, and picked any players that were mentioned in the latest articles. I didn’t read the articles, but I figure if they’re good enough to make an article they’re good enough to be on my team.
Goal keepers were picked based on where they live, I chose one from Sydney and one from Melbourne.
I only have a few hours to finalise the team, so quick suggestion would be appreciated…
I put my hand to the tools yesterday and fixed my elderly neighbour’s cupboard door for her entertainment unit.
It only took me about 6 months to get around to doing it…
It was one of those jobs that should have taken only 10 minutes – pull off old broken hinges, put on new ones and slip back on to the unit… easy.
But… of course, the new hinges were slightly bigger than the last ones, and the door had to be modified to work properly and… well, 6 months later I finally got it done…
I had hoped to get it done before she had to remind me, and there was always this slight feeling of guilt in the back of my mind when I saw her, knowing that I really should get that door fixed.
Now, the door it is fixed. The guilt it is gone. And the happy community feeling is plenteous.
So in the 10 or so weeks following Easter I lost 10kgs…
Then I hit a plateau as you tend to do, it’s a nicer point to be at none the less, but I really haven’t done much since then. I may have started to, but then not really got anywhere.
But now, it’s on again!!
The challenge is to lose 5kgs in 5 weeks! It’ll probably be tougher this time, but if I put it out into the blogging world then I figure I have the added motivation to put a bigger effort into making it happen.
So, if you hear no more on this subject then I have failed miserably and am secretly hoping no one asks me how I’m doing.
We’ll see how it goes…
It’s a sad day.
I took the 1979 Statesman Dual Cab Ute for one last drive tonight before handing the keys over to its new owner!
I already miss her.
Will post pics soon for those who don’t understand my loss, and then I know that you will get it.
I have none on this computer, I think I have some on the one at work so will see…
So the Waghorn Family headed north for their two week junket holiday recently, and had a lovely time. I had a day and a half conference to go to, so we took 2 weeks off to ensure we got there and back in plenty of time.
I did consider doing the whole blog your holiday thing while away, but really don’t know how anyone could be stuffed doing that! Maybe if your overseas doing exciting things, rather than just kicking back and not doing much at all, it’s a lot easier. But I take my hat of to anyone that puts the time into blogging while on holidays.
And even now there’s too much to write about so I’ll give a brief description and consider adding more later… actually I sent an email about it to a friend that had a rough overview… will going looking for it… and use the trusty copy and paste…
So we drove to Moree on Fri night, stayed at the Sundowner Inn and we hated it!! Only cause of the bed, hard as a rock! Nat slept on the floor for part of the night so that I could get some sleep to be able to drive in the morning. (her idea, not mine)
Then we headed for Toowoomba and stayed with my cousin and her family and had a good night, hope to go and stay again sometime. We also brought back heaps of Macadamias as they have a tree.
Then headed to hang out with Mitch and the Ferris’ on Sunday, (friends from Dubbo) went to church with them as well, and then headed into brisbane to spend a couple of nights with other friends, Tim and Laura Moroney, once again a great couple of nights and wish to do it again sometime.
Then back to mitch’s for Tues night, we went and ate Indian in the city, then went up to some lookout to see the city lights AMAZING!!
Then 8 nights at the bay of palms resort, courtesy of my boss, nothing over the top, but a nice place, spent a lot of time in the spa, eating lunch and dinner out by the pool and going shopping! Yes shopping! Did a bit of that actually.
The conference was good, took a lot of notes, so will be able to right a good report and make it look worthwhile enough to send me again next year hopefully! On the Sunday night I had dinner on the beach, amazing spread, and good drinks. It was also a trivia night, met some nice people. They also had a group who played with fire and banged on drums and stuff which was pretty cool. This was all at the Hyatt Sanctuary Cove.
Nat got fairly sick a couple of days before we left, so that sucked for her, Caleb had an ear infection and cold. So there’s a lot of drugs floating around the house at the moment. We also finished in style, the last night we were there we went out and bought prawns and crab for dinner, and had wine!
